Temp sensors measure the amount of heat energy. You could measure the temperature of air, in cooking, of objects, and more.

Sensor Description

There are different sensors in measuring heat. Thermistors, infrared thermometers, thermocouples and more could be all be used for measuring temperature.

Their usage depends on use case. So as we grow Zentser documentation, we will include these additional sensors.

  • Air temperature indoors, outdoors, or in controlled environments (e.g. greenhouse)
  • Machinery temperature to detect a chance of overheating
  • Soil temperature to measure it as a factor for growth

For our basic scenario, we are going to use DHT 22 sensor (buy).

That sensor can detect temperature and humidity. We can use that to our advantage to calculate the Heat Index that is dependent on humidity value.
